Responsibilities Position Summary The BI Business Analyst acts as a point of contact between the Business Insights Group and other functional groups within the company fully engaged in requirements gathering, preparing related documentation, user acceptance testing, data troubleshooting, and ad hoc reporting. The position will determine and address BI's plans, projects, and responsibilities to meet the goals and tactics of all operations and product groups. It will directly oversee, guide and coordinate developers and outside consultants, as well as have significant daily interaction with all levels of functional personnel served by BI. It supports the Business Insights systems through application and report enhancement. This role will require excellent analysis and understanding of BI reporting and business analysis as the BA team works very closely with Business Insights Analytical teams to develop consolidated reporting packages, trend analysis and customer insights. Candidate must be able to communicate to both technical and non-technical team members as well with all levels of the organization This person will ensure compliance with all Company policies and Customer requirements. Responsibilities & Duties Conduct Requirements Gathering sessions in the form of questionnaires and business scenarios with the end users, subject matter experts (SME) and the BI dev teams Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep stakeholders up-to-date on project status Proactively communicate and collaborate with business units and Business Insights teams to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed:
Functional Requirements Document (FRD), Use Cases, Report mockup and Test results) Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing customer and stakeholder relationships Understand the context in which data is used within the business, and match business requirements to the sources of data within systems Conduct data analysis using advanced SQL to understand the drivers of the business and make strategic recommendations Work closely with stakeholders across Business Units:
Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others to drive improvement in quality, volume and service Proven written and oral communication, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal, and negotiation skills Troubleshoot and investigate data anomalies and issues while working directly with the developers to follow through and resolve issues Provide daily status of issues and test progress throughout the JIRA Log to DWH Leads, BI leads & Project Managers Qualifications Technical/Functional Competencies 5 or more years of experience performing Business Analysis or relevant work experience. Ability to develop action plan, business requirements, templates from firsthand analysis communicating with business users and developers to ensure the prescribed finished product meets expectations in purpose, functionality, and timelines. Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and focused on the timely completion of deliverables assigned. Excellent written and oral communication skills:
comfortable and effective in small group and large group presentations. Compelling and accurate writing skills for presentations and email communication. Experience documenting business requirements and using project planning tools. Ability to manage and resolve conflict and drive / achieve business results Collaborative and self-starter. Proven ability to work cross functionally and individually with periodic supervision to achieve overall project objectives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills working with a high degree of ambiguity. Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail; ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. Solid understanding and application of Project Management methodologies. Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work Power User of Excel. Power Pivot and Visio a plus. Working knowledge of various reporting methods and query tools Hands on experience creating technical project documentation (BRD, FRD) Strong understanding of developing reports (Excel, Tableau and MicroStrategy) Hand on experience working with advanced SQL to query databases Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills, including mapping of business need or issue to development of application requirements or procedural initiatives. Strong understanding of reporting and database environments, processes, and associated applications. Preferably MicroStrategy and Tableau. Well-developed knowledge of operational systems, processes and budgeting/forecasting concepts and activities. Proven ability to ensure effective forms of documentation essential for support of overall technical and user needs.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
