Job Details:
Responsibilities:
Maintains and develops relationships and satisfaction in Environmental Services.
Plans projects, including defining objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support the hospital.
Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.
Directs daily Environmental, Linen, Transport, Messengers and Hazardous Material Services operations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment and resources to perform their jobs, meet goals and deadlines.
Ensures Environmental, Linen, Transport and Messengers, Hazardous Material Services are performed according to standards.
Probes potential problems and apprises Director of status on resolution of problems or issues.
Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.
Issue disciplinary notices and participates in disciplinary action including terminations; complete annual performance appraisal for employees supervised.
Under the general direction of the Director, coordinate all projects and activities of the department.
Make Quality Assurance rounds on a daily basis; check all patient rooms, public areas, offices and any other rooms in assigned area for neatness, cleanliness; report any hazardous conditions, defects, or any other unusual conditions found.
Coordinate a daily activity check list for employees in assigned areas to maintain the Quality Assurance program for Environmental Services.
Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, as well as Hospital policies and procedures (e.
g.
quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
Establishes a safe work environment for employees by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with safety and loss prevention programs by providing safety-related training, equipment inventory and maintenance.
Manages the budget by controlling costs (e.
g.
labor, inventory, equipment, and materials), complying with budget requirements and making adjustments when necessary.
Attendance/Punctuality- employee is punctual and attendance is consistent with hospital policy.
Mandatory Education- exhibits an understanding of the hospital's Mandatory Program.
Fire/Safety- demonstrates an understanding of the hospital's fire and safety program and procedures as outlined in the fire and safety manual Infection Control- consistently utilizes infection control practices.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Required.
College Preferred One (1) year of lead hourly/supervisory/management experience.
One (1) year related work experience.
