The candidate will be responsible for establishing standard network configurations and key performance metrics for the radio network, developing report requirements, and implementing new tools to analyze results.
This position requires an experienced engineer to enhance, develop, and implement critical platforms/metrics
o 5
years or more in both an operational and /or technical planning role supporting and optimizing Local and Wide Area Wireless Networks
o Real world experience designing, deploying, and operating high density - high traffic Wi-Fi networks
o Experience working with major Wi-Fi OEMs to optimizing live networks and manage road-maps for future capabilities
o Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify issues or exposures and propose solutions
o Experience in a variety of Operational Support Environments, with an emphasis on large scale wireless networks in indoor and outdoor environments
o Experience in RF network planning, including link budget analysis, coverage planning and capacity modeling. Familiarity with coverage propagation tools such as Planet and underlying prediction models such as Mentum
o Understanding of various wireless planning and measurement tools (e.g., Mapinfo, AirMagnet, Veriwave Chariot, etc.)
o Experience in Network Monitoring Systems and Device/Network Management Systems, like SNMP, etc
o Knowledge of 802.11 protocol both at the physical and MAC layer. Familiar with wireless network security features 802.11i (WEP, WPA/WPA2, WPA/WPA2-PSK and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise) & Authentication protocols like EAP, PEAP, 802.1x
o Familiar with network protocol layers and how to use network analyzers such as Sniffer, EtherPeek, EtherReal, OmniPeek, Airopeek, Wireshark
o Understanding of Networking Principles and all packet based protocols such as TCP/IP (including protocols like DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc), MPLS and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP4
o Understanding of Broadband DOCSIS access and provisioning technologies. Experienced in the use of statistical analysis tools to aggregate and analyze performance resultsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
