The Lead System Administrator will take ownership and be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and providing security for provisioning applications. The Administrator will be responsible for managing JBOSS, Weblogic, Tibco and Web server environments. Managing the environments include but not limited to backup and recovery, sizing and writing infrastructure requirements, following change management processes and monitoring of the systems. The Lead Administrator must also have an understanding of application security and vulnerabilities including the installation of patches and SSL certificates. The Lead position will work with other technical groups including Developers, Project Managers, DBA's and Infrastructure.
Establish and maintain appropriate access control to the JBOSS, Weblogic, Tibco and Web Server environments. Build out new environments from scratch after handoff from hardware team. Diagnose any application performance problems and know when to escalate issues to other groups for resolution. Worked in a virtual machine environment. Have a thorough understanding of all configuration parameters and how to use them to tune and optimize the application. Possess interpersonal skills to work with other groups including infrastructure, networking, data security, and application support in troubleshooting and resolving outages and issues. Comply with IT General Computer Controls and SOX controls. Implement monitoring agents as well as write custom monitoring scripts. Assist with Architecture team to write requirements. Plan a Disaster Recovery solution and schedule backups and test recovery procedures. Report on performance metrics on the health of the system
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills: Must have working knowledge of Unix and Linux operating systems.
Must possess expert knowledge with at least three of the listed disciplinary JBoss, Weblogic, Apache, iPlanet, and Tibco.
Be able to troubleshoot the network layer to check for application latency.
Possess an ability to program in a scripting language (PERL,BASH, PYTHON).
Have working experience with monitoring tools, e.g. AppDynamics, Netcool, SevOne, Splunk.
Must possess excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with other departments.
More than 7
years of working experience in a UNIX/Linux environment. Minimum of five years administering applications running on a JBoss (5x or higher) or Weblogic (9x or higher) or Tibco (BW6.x, EMS7.x) platform. Strong SQL skills and database expertise a plus.
Education: BS/BA in Computer Science, Systems Administration, Application Development, or related area is highly preferred. Minimum of 60 College credits required or military experience or technical/trade school certification.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
