Associate Solution Architect, Solution Architect, Sr. Solution Architect, Principal Solutions Architect)
This position has a career path which provides for promotional opportunities within and across grades as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
This position is a direct report to the PSEGLI Manager of IT Product Planning & Implementation The Solution Architect is responsible for the design of technology solutions in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards. These IT positions will support different line of business within PSEG such us Transmission & Distribution, Customer Operations, and Enterprise systems.
The selected candidate(s) will serve as an expert for the Systems & Platform Architecture domain in any one of the areas listed above and maintain a broad understanding of the other Architecture domains (e.g. Business, Application, Data, and Security domains)
Understanding of architectural design and application delivery in technologies that include, but are not limited to: cloud, mobile, web, APIs/microservices, automation, Field work management, Telecommunications, GIS, SCADA, PI, T&D Control Room operations, continuous integration/continuous deployment
Lead architectural and engineering reviews of proposed IT investments/solutions to determine the strategic alignment and technical soundness;
Assist with planning and architectural design, development, resolution of technical issues, and application rationalization;
Design and maintain standard templates, reference architectures, and design patterns that assist solution architects to develop solutions to business unit requirements that use/re-use common technology platforms
Assess the viability and feasibility of 3rd party solutions to meet business goals. Advise and influence project
Collaborate with other Solution Architects and Developers to provide technical design guidance that will align with the strategy and applicable technical standards;
Provide strategic leadership in identifying new concepts, ideas, techniques, and technology assistance (best practices, guidelines and design patterns for supported technologies)
Associate Solution Architect
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Business Administration with a concentration in one of the mentioned disciplines, with minimal years of professional experience within the information technology field. Recent College Grads are encouraged to apply.
Solution Architect
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Business Administration with a concentration in one of the mentioned disciplines, with a minimum 2 years of professional experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.
Senior Solution Architect
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Business Administration with a concentration in one of the mentioned disciplines minimum 4 years of professional experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.
Principal Solution Architect
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Business Administration with a concentration in one of the mentioned disciplines with a minimum 8 years of professional experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise
Required Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge and experience with designing of technology solutions in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards for business systems and how they align with user needs.
Technical knowledge of software & hardware solutions used in large enterprises including Cloud, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions; Solution architecture experience with proven experience designing solutions for core business functions; Experience with designing software & hardware solutions used in large enterprises including Cloud, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions; Proven experience with aligning project solutions to overall corporate enterprise architecture; Work and communicate with a wide range of people ? peers, vendors, staff members, broader functional and business leadership, and others. Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, demeanor and discretion; more senior level - Ability to manage multiple medium -large sized projects ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture
This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
Preferred Education Skills & Competencies:
Preferred Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Discipline Certifications (i.e Technical certifications, AWS); Ability to proactively communicate technical topics in a clear, succinct, and relevant way.
Experience working within a team; Excellent teamwork, facilitation, relationship building, and negotiation skills; Ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges; IT professional with utility and/or customer systems experience such us
Customer service and operations (Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Interactive Voice Recording (IVR), Billing, Automatic Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Meters, Customer facing apps, etc.)
Transmission distribution operations (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distribution Management systems (DMS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Outage Management System (OMS), Energy management Systems (EMS), Work Management (WMGMT), Pie Historian PI, CYME is load forecasting tool)
Enterprise systems and technology (Cloud, Admission Web Service (AWS), IPAAS, Asset Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Big Data, Analytics, Mobility)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
